Karen Carlisle graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Optometry. She lives in Adelaide with her family and the ghost of her ancient Devon Rex cat.
Karen is currently writing full time. She mainly dabbles in speculative fiction - centering on steampunk, Victorian steampunk mysteries and fantasy - and can often be found plotting fantastical, piratical or airship adventures.
She is not keen on the South Australian summers and rarely refuses dark chocolate and a good cup of tea.
