Don’t wait for July! What you can do right now…
June 08, 2015
Welcome to Camp NaNoWriMo, writers! This July, you’ll be setting out on the trail of your next great writing project alongside thousands of your fellow writers.
Some of you may be new to Camp. Don’t worry, we promise everyone is nice! Even the Block Ness Monster is more of a nuisance than a threat, really. As you settle in, here’s a quick primer on what you can do right now, before July rolls around:
Define Your Writing Project
You can define your July 2015 writing project here. A few things to take note of:
- You can change your word-count goal if you’re not interested in writing the default 50,000 words! (You’ll be able to edit your word-count goal through July, too, until winning officially begins.)
- Writing a project that you can’t measure in words? Here are a couple guidelines on how to count script pages or revision hours.
- You can choose a writing project category: anything from the usual novel to nonfiction, poetry, or a script!
- Pick your genre, too. Can’t find the right fit? Select “Your Choice” and define your own genre.
